Hello!
Yesterday was not our p-day because of Victoria Day. We missionaries do the opposite of everybody else: the Sabbath is definitely not a day of rest and holidays are go days!
My week started off pretty sweet. For p-day Elder Kohl and I went to the golfing range and also played on the chipping and putting green. We shared a $14 bucket of balls and played for close to 3 hours so it was absolutely worth it! I'm still good at golf :)
We also helped out the members a lot this week. We have mowed and done weed whacking for a couple senior members, helped a sister pack stuff before she moves, cleaned out gutters, painted a bedroom, and de-cluttered a back yard. What would the ward do with out us?! Some might think that's too much service, I think I would rather be doing that than tracting haha.
We've been primarily working with the members to find people to teach. This way of finding basically looks like the following: meeting with members (not just dinner appointments), having a missionary focused discussion/lesson, talk about who they want to see join the church, talk about what they can do about it and what we as the missionaries will do. Although, we haven't had much finding success thus far, things are looking up. Woodstock is going to see some major miracles soon, I can feel it!
Spring is a great time to do service! "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." My invitation to you is to serve somebody this week. I promise that the more time and effort you put into your service, the more rewarding it will be for the people you serve and for you. Doing service creates a mutualistic relationship (a relationship in which both parties benefit from the relationship). One prime example of mutualism is the relationship between bees and flowers. The bees do most of the work: they pollinate the flowers so they can reproduce, but in return the bees are fed. The more work the bees do (service) the more "blessings" they receive and the more good they do for the world. Let's go out and be busy bees this week!
I would like a report next week on what service my family does this week! Have a wonderful week everybody!
