It's funny, I did a re-read of my email from last week and realized I forgot to delete 3 sentences that I added to the conclusion, so it was said twice. It's kind of an embarrassing mistake for me, but oh well haha. Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful week after General Conference weekend!
My prayers are with the family, grandma Fay returned to heaven to reunite with her loving husband and family in paradise. She is a true disciple of Christ and a wonderful example of what it means to endure to the end. Her influence will be felt by many people for many years. At this time, I am especially grateful for my incredible family and my knowledge of the divine Plan of Salvation. What a blessing it is that families are forever. I love my family so much!
As always, things are going great here in Woodstock! Elder Coffey and I are busy bees working under the direction of Bishop to help strengthen this wonderful ward. Hubert, our progressing investigator is so close to baptism. We had a mock baptismal interview with him to identify the strengths and weaknesses of his testimony. He said he feels the church is true in his heart, but his mind is in conflict with his heart. We are going to help him gain a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and I think that will help it all come together.
Unfortunately, Michael and Virginia, the couple which was found online two weeks ago did not pan out. After our first visit, Michael texted us and said he "wouldn't be taking up Mormonism." That news was surprising to me, but it happens (opposition in all things). They are inspiring christian people who do a lot of good in the community and at church, I believe that some day they will come to know the truth that is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Easter is this weekend! If you haven't seen the Church's Easter video, "Prince of Peace" then check it out. The video is on the front page of mormon.org. Missionaries received awesome pass along cards to help promote this video as part of the Easter initiative. We've been giving the cards to some members so they can share them as well. We've been handing them out while contacting, it's so interesting to see the reaction of the people when they see the face of Jesus on the card. When people deny the card, they are denying Jesus Christ, plain and simple. I presume most people who deny Jesus Christ do so because they don't know much about him. We need to teach others about Jesus Christ if we are to help them have faith in him. Knowledge leads to belief, which leads to action and repentance, which leads to baptism and happiness. I invite all of you to share a message about Jesus Christ (it could be the Easter video) with someone who doesn't know much about their Savior. Doing so, could make their day or change their life. We won't know until we share it. I invite you to try a little hard to share this knowledge which is most precious.
I hope you will all have a spiritually refreshing Easter weekend. Keep up the good work everybody. Spring is in the air!
Elder Johnson
